EASTPOINTE— A judge on Thursday ordered two 17-year-olds to stand trial after hearing testimony from witnesses who said the men kidnapped a random stranger in a suburban parking lot, drew $300 from his bank account and killed him execution-style in a burned-out Detroit house.
Matt Landry was shot in ‘‘cold blood’’ by Ihab Maslamani and Robert Taylor, Macomb County assistant prosecutor Bill Cataldo told Eastpointe District Judge Carl Gerds III.
There is no evidence that Landry ‘‘knew these individuals and voluntarily got in the car with them. ... Something was wrong,’’ Cataldo said.
Landry, 21, disappeared Aug. 9 after buying sandwiches from a Quiznos shop in Eastpointe, near Detroit. His body was found four days later in an abandoned house. He had been shot once in the head.
