Columnist off with suggestions about government

Ms. Sequin has written several excellent opinion pieces. I find her most recent disappointing. Too many words meandering toward her main points. (1) The government should control wage scales. People “willing and able to do all sorts of jobs” should be paid “fairly for their efforts.” (2) A pay scale, presumably dictated by the government, should allow for “living a standard life with some basic luxuries.” (3) Finally, “our government should be recognizing the ambition of its working citizens and rewarding them decently with an acceptable paycheck.” Has the Soviet Union, like a phoenix, risen from the ashes? Ms. Sequin acknowledges being a student. Therefore I will direct my criticism of her view of economics and the role of government at her instructors. Her proposals are straight out of a socialist/communist handbook. “From each according to his ability to each according to his need.
