Set the record straight on Social Security
I would like to say something about Ellen Goodman column in today's edition of the news.
First of all social security is not an entitlement it is a government insurance co. every one who works pays a premium in every paycheck you receive. And the seniors are still paying a premium every month. The government takes $96 a month out of every check I get. Plus I don't collect a thing on what two paid in all the years I worked. I receive my check from what my husband paid in.
I was working in Corpus Christi before. When the boat people was coming to shores and the first thing they did was to put those people on social security and they pooled this money and bought a big shrimp boats and was putting the people who had that as a family business all their lives out of business. It was so bad that the K.K.K. clan offered to come there and deal with the boat people. It was in the paper and on the news - the government is always robbing the S.S. Trust fund thats why its going broke.
Ellen Godman when she retires will be right there with her hand out for that entitlement. By that time it won't be an entitlement it will be her right.

I hate to see the working man pointed to as bigots. The Klan was made up of the social elite. There was no political power after the civil was so they resoreted to violence. The Klan version up north just enacted laws limiting travel and where African Americans could live. Look it up and see when the laws were repealed in your area. So no you could not have a selma in the U.P. But Detroit is another story. According to history slavery was still legal for decades after the war in states up where you live. Check it out. The South has made great progress since the 60's interracial dating and marriage is widely accepted. and we have LOW TAXES AND NEW JOBS.

Congradulations on ignorance. The lady was right on both counts. When LBJ stole the Social Security Trust Fund to pay for his little war, The days S.S were numbered. Congress from the 60' thru the 90,s used the Fund as a slush fund to buy votes and line the pockets of their friends. SS benefits for failing grades, drug addicts, alcholics, and HIV. It has become the source for funding the socialist agenda paid for by a shrinking workforce. As for the KKK reference yes they offered however unlike Michigan the local people told them to go away. I have lived all around this country in the last 5 decades and I can tell you that I have heard more KKK language every day in Northern Michigan then in 98% of the south. It is so much a part of the mental make up that unless you get away and come back it seems normal. I have lived In the North South East and West and found the southern society more integrated and acceptable of others then the other 3

Social security has an operating cost of 3% this is a very low operating cost and it's a well run government program. In fact it is the best program, public or private, ever created in the USA. FDR should be carved into Mt. Rushmore right next to Washington. The President that creates a public health care should be next to Lincoln. The Tea Party members should given Chinese Finger Traps to keep them mentally occupied.

The letter makes it clear...secure your own financial future OUTSIDE government assistance. But, that's hard to do when the gov't takes that which could be put away for retirement. It's never a good idea to invest in gov't business. Overhead is outrageous. Nothing for them is temporary, except your freedoms. We are in this together. Everyone suffers the same when everyone invests in gov't. Sheeple better wake up!

What boat people are being talked about here? Her description makes it sound like the poor Texans were being whip by these boat people, but with the threat of the KKK they got their new shrimp boat and fled
